The Challenge
A rapidly growing global logistics firm with over 12,000 employees was struggling with soaring employee turnover, specifically within their mid-level management and specialized driver tiers. The HR team lacked visibility into why high-performing employees were leaving. Exit interviews were conducted sporadically and stored in disjointed systems (Word documents and scattered spreadsheets), making any kind of historical trend analysis impossible. The lack of clean data meant leadership could only react to resignations after the fact, rather than proactively addressing the root causes of employee dissatisfaction.
Our Solution
We partnered with their HR leadership to completely overhaul their data strategy. First, we implemented Fivetran to automatically sync their legacy HRIS data, anonymous survey results, compensation structures, and historical performance reviews into a secure Snowflake data cloud. We then used dbt (Data Build Tool) to clean and transform the data. Finally, we developed a sleek, intuitive Power BI dashboard utilizing advanced DAX measures and a Python-based predictive attrition model. This dashboard highlighted hidden flight risks by correlating compensation bands, time-in-role, commute times, and recent review scores, providing HR business partners with actionable alerts before employees handed in their notice.
